I bought the cedar, sweetgrass, and sage bar, and got a free sample of satsuma with my order. As I am currently visiting family for the holidays, the sample size bar is perfect for traveling so I haven't even tried the one I originally ordered yet. The smell is fantastic, and doesn't linger after cleaning which is preferable to me. It's a bright scent that awakens my senses and makes the shower very enjoyable. I got shampoo bars because the liquid was locking my hair so fast, I wanted to slow it down a bit. After trying the bar, my hair still feels light and soft, and the locking process is still proceeding at an accelerated rate. My hair feels so balanced now, not too dry, not too moisturized. My dreads are forming up nicely; I now get positive comments on my hair on a regular basis. This dreadlock shampoo is the best ever and I will likely have a review for most of the products offered as I amass my collection of shampoo scents. I ordered the cedar, sage, and sweet grass bar, along with dragon's blood liquid. I got a sample of the Satsuma bar with my order, and I'm traveling around for the holidays so it works perfectly as a travel size dread bar. The smell while washing is wonderful and rejuvenating, and doesn't stick in my dreads. This is good for me, as I want to essentially amass a collection of these shampoos so I can choose when my dreads have a scent after washing and when they don't. I love the smell, but it doesn't stay in my hair for very long. The more herbal/earthy scents stay in my hair for days! This lasts only a few hours.

I waited to write a review so I could see the longer term effects, and I'm definitely impressed! The scent is wonderful, although not as strong as anticipated. My locks are soft and clean, and aside from the usual winter dryness my scalp is happy. I live in an area with extremely hard water and the shampoo still lathers and cleans normally. One thing I noticed is that you have to rinse VERY well to make sure none of the product stays in your dreads...a few extra minutes does the trick for me. Even after just one wash I noticed an acceleration in the locking process, which continues today. The service was excellent and very friendly - emails were answered promptly, and I received a handwritten note and free sample of the nag champa shampoo bar with my order. I appreciate the sample because it turns out that I'm allergic to the nag...and was going to order it! I came across this product on Dreadlockssite.com and honestly this is the best shampoo Ive ever used dreads or not. It left my 5 month old frizzy dreads soft and a little less frizzy. But I think that the best part is the scent, as soon as you open the package the smell whips you in the nose and it is fantastic. Its somewhere between oranges and floral scents but its definitely not geared towards one sex. I cant recommend this product enough AND it came with a free sample Nag champa liquid soap!
